A new wallpaper + countdown to the first in-game look at The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Bethesda released a new wallpaper today featuring the Dragonborn (Dovahkiin) in an imposing stance dual-wielding two swords, at the peak of a chilly mountain. But what you see is just the icing (no, not the mountain’s peak). A countdown timer is at the bottom together with the words “Visit ElderScrolls.com … for the first, in-game look at The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim”. It looks like Bethesda is getting ready to reveal more of the much-anticipated title.

We’ve seen many screenshots of Skyrim  already. I hope we get to see actual in-game videos this time. Oblivion raised the standards in video game graphics a few years ago so the same is expected from Skyrim. But what’s more important are the gameplay mechanics. What’s new? What has changed? What are the enhancements? Those, we will all know 2 hours, 35 minutes, 5 seconds from now.

Update: Bethesda released the first in-game trailer of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim just now, even before the countdown timer runs out.
